Company History

With paid up capital of five (5) million baht, the Viriyah Insurance was established on February 3, 1947 as “Asiatic Distribution Co., Ltd.” Which provided Fire and Marine Insurance services under an effective management team led by Khun Prapai Viriyahbhun, its office was located on Krungkaseam Road, ProbPrab District.

In 1981, The company then extended its business to incorporate automotive and miscellaneous insurances.

In 1982, the company was renamed to ‘The Viriayh Insurance Company’ in order to honor and give recognition to previous business interests, ‘the Viriyah Panich’, which is the manufacturer and distributor of the renowned Pla-Tapien Lacquer and Viriyah cough syrup. These companies still remain in business today.

Since then, the Viriyah has rapidly grown and gained high recognition from the Thai people and in 1989, the reliability of the Viriyah was exemplified through it achieving the highest market share in the local market. The Viriyah Insurance has also maintained the highest market share over the last fifteen (15) years.

Through determination and its devotion to the Thai people, the company further extended its branch network in 1993 to include a major office complex on Ratchadapisek Road, thus bringing it into the heart of the business centre area.

The Viriyah at present

Following its inception sixty (60) years ago, the company is now recognized as the leading insurance company in Thailand and has achieved this position for the last 15 years. The company offers a wide range of insurance products developed and designed based upon the needs of its customers.

In addition, the company continues to apply a policy of social activities and contributions to both public and private sector projects which are designed to improve the quality of life for the Thai people.
